Exhaust flange question

I have a questiona bout the exhaust flange on my cat. I just bought a magan racing 3" DP and the flange on it is alot bigger than the one on my cat. I took it to the muffler shop, and he said I needed to get a flange that will bolt to the DP and he can weld it onto my cat. Does anyone know where I can get a flange like this? He also said he could cut the flange off the DP and weld some pipe to it and make it work, but I dont wanna cut this new DP.
