NA Stroker info?

Has anyone done this or attempted so? I've searched quite a bit online and on some other forums as well as this one and came up with nothing. My talon is in desperate need of a rebuild from all the stop and go traffic she has to go through and I'd like to pep her up little more if I'm already going to tear her guts out.


Any info or links would be more thank appreciated. :thumb:
 
No need to reinvent the wheel. Instead of trying to build a stroker, just find a 2.4 shortblock from an early Hyundai Sonata and rebuild that (engine code G4CS). That way you won't have to worry about looking for replacement connecting rods or ording one-off pistons for your stroker kit to avoid having the pistons come up above the block. From what I've seen of the stroker kits out there, you could find a complete 2.4 short block and rebuild that for considerably less.
 
I agree with Quasimondo. If your going to do it you might as well keep it simple. Ive been thinking about doing the same thing with my project car instead of rebuilding the 4g63.
 
Wait, So you're saying I could just rebuild the 2.4 bottom end and slap on the 4g63 head, If so that would be sweet because I could keep her on the road until I was ready to do a quick yank and plug of the engines.

And it states that the combo of the 2 would create a 11:1 compression ratio, Is that true? If so could knock be controled through higher octane fuel and/or timing? Remember I'm NA so high compression isn't such a bad thing for me.

When you get the diferent pistons the compression ratio works out to about 9 to 1. That way you dont have to worry about any problems associated with to high of a compression ratio.
