So tomorrow I install the fuel pressure solenoid and its time to play! But one of the guys att he shop thinks there should be a gasket b/w my RFL BOV and the flanged piping. When I bought the adapter so I could install the the BOV it did not come with a gasket. Basically its two bolts on either side. I tightened pretty hard but I want to be sure. I heard from talking to people some BOV require a gasket and some don't. If that the case where can I get one. TURBO XS RFL BOV with adapter plate to fit a 1g flange or a gasket type spray like silicon?

I have basically the same setup. A Turbo XS H34 (like the RFL, only recirculated) on a 1g flanged Dave Brode pipe. I don't use a gasket there and I've done many boost leak tests since I installed this in early 2000 with no leaks there...you'll be fine. If you want to get a warm fuzzy, then throw some rtv on it.

Between the two flanges you will want to use some kind of gasket. Either use a paper gasket or RTV to seal the flanges together. Since the adapter is a direct bolt on you may even be able to use a factory gasket. If you use RTV make sure that no material goes into the main opening for the bov.

If you were using the RFL with a weld on flange, no gasket would be required.

The RFL style bov vents to the atmosphere and if you are running a factory sensor it is not recomended to vent. I have seen this bov vented before so it is possible.

When you are finished do a boost leak test to make sure there are no leaks.

I am not totally sure what you are talking about but, I will try to answer your questions. For the Blow of Valve you will need some form of a seal. Silicone RTV will work, but, if you have a gasket then you'll be good.

As for the Fuel Pressure Solenoid? Are you talking about an Fuel Pressure Regulator(Adjustable) or just replacing the stock electrical solenoid?

So, to answer your question: use Silicone RTV found at any auto-parts store to seal your Blow off Valve if you don't have a gasket.

If you have anymore questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Edit: It looks like I took too long to write this. Good job guys!

It is vented into the atmosphere w/o the necessary hardware such as the MAF and MAFT. That is my next mod, I bought the BOV before I became a memeber of the forums. I will be dealing with the car running rich for a month at most. This car has been dead for 7 months and I finally brought it back from the dead at a decent cost. I dont want to be spending money when it could be needed elsewhere! THANKS!

No matter what you do, do a boost leak test. If you spray soapy water on the BOV/IC flange joint and bolts holding it on and don't see bubbles, you don't need to tear it off and add a gasket. If it bubbles, I'd pull it off and smear a bit of RTV around it (go inside the bolt pattern or it might still leak at the bolt holes). Repeat the boost leak test after the RTV has set up to make sure you fixed the leak. Fix the other leaks you find, too ;).
