Hi all. I have a bit of a problem. I recently did some work to my car (95 TSi) and now it just dies. I was wondering if anyone might be able to shed some light on my problem. Let me start out by listing all the things I did and then all the problems it caused.

Things I did:
1. Drained all oil and coolant.
2. Removed the T25, I could not separate the O2 housing or remove the O2 housing sensor so I cut the wires on the sensor and removed the turbo with the O2 housing intact.
3. Disassembled the T25, I separated the turbo housing (the exhaust and intake housing) I was going to a rebuild but never did (I simply separated the turbo into 2 pieces).
4. I put the turbo back together and put it back on the car (connecting all the oil and coolant lines as they were connected before).
5. I took apart the IC piping and removed the inter-cooler.
6. Found 2 holes (rivet hole from some sort of plate that was on the Inter-cooler), and I sealed them with JB weld.
7. I put the intercooler back on the car and reconnected all the piping (At this point everything is back the way I found it).
8. I soldered the O2 housing sensor wires back the way they were connected (I labeled them prior so I'm 100% sure they were soldered together correctly)
9. I refilled the Oil and Coolant.

The problems:
1. The car, at first, didn't want to start. When I first turned the key over it made some strange noises. On the second try the noise went away but the car still wouldn't start.
2. At this point I checked the boost gauge (stock) and it was holding steady about half way. (but the car was not running) The gauge still showed some boost.
3. I let it sit for about 30 minutes and came back, put the key in and the gauge still showed boost.
4. I tried to start the car again this time it turned over and started but died immediately. (Boost gauge still showing about 40% boost)
5. I tried again to start it and when it turned over I gave it some gas and held it at 2000 rpm. The engine was running but it sounded like it was struggling or something. I held the car at 2000 rpm for about 30 seconds and then let of the throttle. The RPMs dropped and it died. I got out of the car and behind me was a cloud of white smoke (could be just condensation because the car hasn't been running for about 2 weeks now, but I smelled the smoke and I could smell some oil and/or gas in it (I THINK)).

At this point I came here and started to write this up. I'm reluctant to start it again because I do not want to hurt the car. If anyone knows when the problem might be then I ask you PLEASE help. ANY and all suggestions will be appreciated. I was wondering if I missed something when putting it all back together. I double and triple checked and all the line are connected.

Can anyone suggest what I should check again? And why is the car showing boost when the engine is not running? (I disconnected the throttle piping to release the air pressure but there was none). Could it be some boost sensor showing me boost when there is none?

If anyone wants more info or has any questions then please ask and I will get the answer for you. Once again, DSMtuners community, please help. -Sincerely, Tom.

Ok well, it's all good now. I reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery and started the car keeping it at 2000 revs until it warmed up a bit and it seems to be ok now. I doesn't die anymore but it idles low around 500-600 rpm. Just have to figure out how to raise the idle and it should be good. :)

I read somewhere on a (DSMTuners) forum it's a little more complicated then that. Something about grounding the 3rd pin on the ECU or something?!?! Any comments?
