Ok so I took my car into the shop today to get my springs put on, and one og the guys that works there asked me if I wanna trade my stock 97 GST rims for a set of 17" Konig Reasons, no scratches, tires only 1 month old. What do you guys think? I like the stock wheels, but new rims and tires for free is always nice. Here is a pic of the rims

I always find it helpful to keep stock rims on hand. That way you can switch during the winter. And if you ever decide to sell those rims again you'd have to buy another set of rims. Where as if you have your stock rims on hand you could still sell your rims and have something to roll around on.

not sure what they weight compared to stock. I dont have to worry about putting the stocks back on during the winter because I live in el paso where it is winter one day every 4 years. haha. But what do you guys think of the look of the rims compared to the stocks? Keep in mind I have a barcelona red spyder....and the stocks i have are chrome. Anyones opinion would be appreciated. It will help me in making my decision. thanks guys.

See if the guy will let you put them on one side to see how it will look before making up your mind.

If you don't have to worry about snow or any conditions during that would ruin your rims then go for it. But I would do what Cs4g63 said. Before you go and seal the deal put them on one side see if they tickle your fancy.

He showed me a pic of them, but it was an up close pic, not the whole car. It was the same color car as mine so I will just look at his car. Well actually he said its his girlfriends car. haha. I really cant decide. I love the look of the stock rims, but these are nice too....newer tires....bigger....hmmm. He wants to know by tomorrow. decisions, decisions....

Seems too good to be true. And of course, as they say, "If its too good to be true, it probably is." Trading 17's for stock rims? Hmmm....

If you do a search here on the boards you will see that people have complained of those wheels breaking! The spoke seperating from the rim! Plus 17" tires are more expensive.

I was looking at buying those and I just opted to do what they were saying above more or less.

If you are going to bother with aftermarket rims, get something a little higher quality IMHO.

I have heard of a few rims breaking too. But its not like its a 1 in 4 chance its gonna happen. Im sure its pretty rare or elso the company wouldnt be in business. I just cant decide if I like the stock chromes or these better!! I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!
