Apparently my 90 awd eclipse has the coilpack going out. As 90 parts harder to find, im wondering if i can swap it with a 91-94 coil. I know that the connector is different, the 90 one has a 4 prong plug, and the 91-91 has has a triangular one. Also the 90 has the tach signal in a small box attached to the pack itself. I know i can hardwire the coilpack itself, but how i would do about the tach signal?

the coils are interchangeable. you need to pretty much dissasemble the entire pack though. i had to do this on my 90 laser. it took a few minutes, but i had a working coil pack. it should be pretty self-explanitory once you start looking at them side by side and taking them apart.

consider this a temporary fix as you save up for a new coil pack. they're coming up on 20 years old now and aren't going to last forever.
