I've got a bone stock 95 GS-T.

First question is, if I'm in a position to snag a 1G 14B for pretty cheap, would it be a good idea to go ahead and bolt that up for the time being, until I have the money to upgrade to an Evo III later down the road (turbo, injectors, fuel pump, ect). I know I'd have to get the 2G kit and all, but I'd have to get one anyways for the Evo III turbo later on.

Secondly, when I put a FMIC on my car, would it be better to buy a core, and then piece some pipes together myself (I've got a buddy I could use to weld the stuff together for pretty cheap) or would I be better off buying a FMIC set? I've looked around, and most of the ones I've seen have been pretty damn expensive.

Thirdly, I was told that the 7 bolt 4G63 is generally good to about 400HP before the internals need to be upgraded, but is that figure from crank figures or at the wheels?

I swear there was another question I had, but I seem to have forgotten it, so I guess thats it for now. Thanks guys!

Hello Xeiros! You can upgrade to a 14b, but notice that the 14b flows better than the t-25. This might make you run slightly lean. FMIC kits are very expensive(the brand ones), Ebay FMIC have pasted the bullet-proof reviews of alot of tuners here and the core seem to cool alot and for extremely cheap money. Your can either buy just the core and have your buddy weld up the pipes and buy the kit for like 200-250 depending on the bid. Its been proven to work. The 95-99 4g63 has been proven to make over 450whp on STOCK internals.

Glad to help! Good day.

If you're going to get a 16g, I wouldn't buy a 14b to put on for the time being. You'll save money, unless the 14b is free if you're just patient. Buy once. I agree that the 2g fmic kit on ebay gets pretty good reviews and is probably one of the cheapest for what you get.

If you have the means to do your own piping i would go that way and save yourself a bunch of money but means and know how are 2 seperate things i guess it boils down to confidence good luck

I wouldnt even get the evo16g if you plan on 400whp. You wont get much over 330whp with the evo16g on pump. I would go with a 50trim or larger. The dsm motors have been known to hold 400whp reliable. Ohh yea and if you can do your own pipes go that route.
