Old product. It's just now being ripped off by cheap companies, I think it was Mugen who did it first for NA Honda's. I don't think it'd be very effective on a dsm.

The thought with the loops are that the exhaust's sound will cancil its-self out. I have seen one on a talon before, it was super quiet at idle but sounded like a home-made, first time welding, mix and match different size pipes, exhaust on a honda the rest of the time driving:barf: . I have herd them on hondas before, and they sounded ok, but they clearly were not made for our cars.

The overwhelming majority say it's useless, my vote included. If you want a really quiet exhaust system, buy one or two resonators and weld them in place. Need your exhaust to be even quieter? Add a catalytic converter to the mix. You should be good to go. :)

yea just more restriction, seems like a honda product.
Remember turbo cars dont like backpressure, if we all could run around open dp the turbo would be happier...
Theres plenty of high flow design mufflers that are quiet .

Hey guys has anyone ever had a Twin Loop Muffler on a TSi? I just got the muffler for free and can't seem to find any videos online of a DSM turbo with this style muffler on it. Before I go through any work to put it on I'd like to get an idea of the sound it'll produce first.....

I can tell you it's not going to be the best for flow. Retarded design. I would just sell it on Ebay then buy yourself a catback system.

In my area the cops nail anybody with a muffler that's more than a 3" opening, unless it's stock ( some of the Lancers and STI's around here have them from the dealership and that's ok... I guess.) So I wanted a deeper, slightly louder tone, but not obviously a racing fart can style muffler.... and since it was free that just seemed even better...

This is what you do then... Sell that muffler. buy a magnaflow muffler off ebay or other vendor. Take your car to a muffler shop have them weld it in a little bit further back than stock. Then just have pipe coming out the back with two tasteful 2"-2.5" tips on it. Sort of how I did my last 1g:

If I just wanted loud i guess I could do like I did on my 1st gen Neon after I put the turbo on it... After the cat ran a Cherry Bomb Glasspack and then just 2 3/4 pipe all the way back. BUT I'm just looking for a little more deep tone NOT a honda whine... Any other suggestions that DON'T have a huge tip on the muffter? I just spent $618 having the whole exhaust redone, BUT they put a NT muffler on it and I can feel a difference in the car's performance because of it... Hence the desire for a new muffler...
