ok, im new to DSM but im a pretty seasoned mechanic. here's teh beef: i traded this car for an s13 convertible..the previous owner couldnt figure out the linkages as he put a new transmission in it. that was as simple as triming down the lock nut, anyway, i wont get into that as its not the problem. so he put this new trans in and couldnt figure it out and ended up wanting to dump it off...so we traded. he says the car was running when he parked it and did the trans swap. well, it doesnt start. when i got it, the plugs were fouled, the plug wires were missing connectors that go into the coil and the coil was cracked on teh 4-1 cyl's coil. i replaced teh plugs (iridium, expensive bastards), coil packs and wires. no fire. i checked for fuel and i have fuel coming into the line, i got the motor into TDC and the top end all lines up to my timing is good, i have spark, i checked compression, good, good, good...im dying here. any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks in advance

as far as a manual, i have a proper mitsubishi factory service manual. it sucks. no diagnostic flowcharts, no bench testing procedures on parts...nothing. its worthless. i put fresh fuel into teh tank before i started monkeying with it just to save face. the car was sitting for a while, but not to long. maybe a few months. and it will start, it just takes about a half hr and a few charges of the battery.
