Im using Microtech on my eclipse as u guys should know they do not read knock , in order to further tune my engine I really want to know who makes a knock monitor device , i been searching around but nothing , i try Haltech but they dont sell it , HKS sells one but i think it only works with the stock ecu
does anyone here might have an idea were to buy one.

thanks
happy holydays

What year/model DSM do you have? If it's a 1g, any pocket logger / MMCD / etc program should monitor knock. If it's a 2g than you cannot monitor knock with just a pocket logger / palmnstein / OBDgauge. You will have to get DSMLink and/or a chipped ECU, or AEM EMS, or Haltech.

he's not running a stock ecu so doesn't that mean that ther pocket logger can't monitor knock because the ecu isn't? Im a newb :)

If you watch the timing curves for any kind of dips this is usually a sign that the ecu would pull timing, however that is on the stock ecu, I am not sure what your ecu will do.

I think its like 3 counts of knock and the ecu will pull one degree of timing out(read as knock retard degrees) you watch the dips to see where you could be getting knock as normally you should have a smooth timing curve. wiseman any thing to add

Not to double post or anything but the whole watching the timing thing is only something 2gs have to worry about cause us 1g guys can log knock where 2gs can't log knock for some reason(atleast that is what I was told before)

ah thanks for the info on our crappy dataloggers, it always puzzled me when I heard you couldn't log know on a 2g when I know those have knock sensors! good info man.

Yes I have something to add. How can the ecu retard timing due to knock if it doesn't have a knock sensor?

My apologies, I didn't read carefully enough, I thought the gentleman that posted about watching the timing curve was talking about the stock ecu setup. I will be sure to read more carefully in the future.
