I have been having problems with my CTS since I got my car back from a local shop. The guy did a poor job on the car and I had to end up finishing the installation of my transmission. This was a few months ago and my car has been laid up since then but I'm about to get it going again soon. Now when I finished it I noticed a couple open wires that were near my CTS. I believe there were just two wires but I didn't know where they went and my car started without them being hooked up so I kinda blew it off for a bit since the car wasn't really in operation anyway. Now there is nothing plugged into the prongs on the thermostat housing. I'm assuming thats where the CTS is located and I'm also assuming that those wires were once connected to the prongs. More than likely a hack-job before, but it worked. I'm just looking for advice in every way on this. Should I just try to hook them up and see if it fixes the problem and if not maybe switch them and try again?

If the prongs and connectors are still there just hook them up. If not, the engine coolant temp sensor for ECU to control MFI is the 2 wire one (black and black/white). The other engine coolant temp sensor is for dash temp gauge and is 1 red/yellow wire.

Hmm ok, I'll try to take a look tonight to see what I can decifer from the wires. There are no actual connectors there, its just prongs sticking out from the thermostat housing and a couple bare wires if I remember correctly. I don't remember seeing a red/yellow wire anywhere around there but I can look again. But I do recall my dash temp gauge still working so it must be hooked up somehow. I'll try to look tonight to see what I can see for the wiring. It was late when I got home from work yesterday so I was unable to tinker with it at all.
