Ok I remember seeing this on a thread but can't find it anymore.

One how do I know if I have a 6bolt or 7bolt flywheel.
my car is a 98 RS eclipse. 420A motor.

Also doesn't anyone know of any free mods you can do to this car besides port matching, ground wires?

Also what do people mean when they say they have done a 7to6 or 6to7 conversion and what is the positive of doing this.

sorry for the repetative Q? but I can't find anything On the forums.

6 or 7 bolt doesnt refer to non turbo engines like you have its for us guys running turbo motors

I have no idea about your motor the 420a. But they do have non turbo 6 and 7 bolts. All 4g63's and 64's are either a 7 or 6.

7 bolts are known to have crankwalk so a lot of people put 6 bolts in there cars for reliability. In my opinion it dont madder. A 7 bolt flywheel will have 7 bolts and a 6 will have 6.

On a non turbo you wont get much out of any free mods. Im very surprised you dynoed what you did, those numbers look way to high. Stock turbo lays about that much.

This stuff doesn't apply to you, it applies to the turbo 2gs. Non turbo 2gs have a chrysler engine (420a). Ignore the free mods as well.

If your looking for a clutch or flywheel everything will be listed for the NON turbo gs or rs. If it says turbo or 6 bolt or 7 bolt your looking to buy the wrong thing. Unfortuneatly a 4g63 swap in your car is alot of work and money. Only one i saw a friend do was because the car was wrecked in the front. Those def are pretty good numbers for a 420a

wow you guys have little to no fath that my dyno numbers are what they say they are. first it was a cold day and that was with water cooler blowing in front of it as well frezzing the air. I also have everything internal custom tuned and rebuilt.

ok i know the 420a is a chry. engine, I already have the centerforce clutch upgrade for my car but want a light weight flywheel for a little quicker rev. and go. but does anyone know If I can use the lightwieght flywheel they make for the 420a, and use the neon disc and pressure plate since this is what they are telling me to do. I really don't trust what people put for discriptions unless two or so say the same thing about it.

The only reason I have little faith is because one of the fastest 2g n/t dynoed about the same as you and I think holds the 1/4 mile record at about 14.2 or a little higher. Cant remember who it was. He had everything done to it. If you are running really high compression than I may believe it.

i have a lower and upper rebuild man. My pistons are higher then stock 9.5:1 420a pistons. I also have a polished/balance crankshaft.

Cool so does anyone know what else I can swap from the neons set-up for more hp.
Or can anyone tell if I should just go with the trans. gear ratio from the neon and transplant it into my trans. I think it's like 5.5:1 instead of 3.5:1. I think that would do a lot more then anyother upgrade besides the turbo.
