Im changing out my stock 13b turbo for a garret 60-1(a lil bigger then 16g) and i was wondering does the oem mitsubishi turbo gasket work with that kind of opening? And i noticed on the manifold that there was a round spacer surrounding the exhaust manifold gasket.... do they all come like that and do i need it? Can i just replace the gasket with the standard mitsu gasket? thanks

It's a 13g for the auto cars and 14b for the manual cars.

Ditch the round plastic thing and yes, just buy an oem turbo gasket. www.jnztuning.com has all oem parts for you (call them).

A 60-1 is not a little bigger than a 16g...it's a LOT bigger! They are not even in the same ballpark! A 16g is capable of flowing about 35 lbs/min, a 60-1 is capable of flowing about 60 lbs/min. I would not even think about putting that turbo on without ALL of the supporting mods! You really need to do some research before just throwing a big turbo on. Your car will hit fuel cut before that turbo even gets into the bottom of its efficiency range and will be a COMPLETE dog! The stock turbo will be MUCH faster than a 60-1 with no mods. As far as actually bolting it on, it is not a direct bolt on. They have a completely different mounting flange. I'm not positive but it sounds like the spacer you are talking about is a adapter flange meant to adapt the turbo flange to a mitsubishi manifold. Where did you get it from or what did it come off of?

Hopefully you are making a joke about it being a lil bigger.

X 2 If your profile is correct then you have a completly stock car, if that is the case then there are a multitude of other mods to do before changing out your turbo.

Well i bought it from WWR Turbo Injection in Miami. I have the right flange for it to bolt on and i do have all supporting mods including injectors, fuel pump, SAFC, Fuel Pressure Regulator, Exhaust, Free Mods, Boost Control, etc. Im not gonna blow my car up.. ill have the boost set at bare minimum untill i get my logger. I got an awesome deal on it and its brand new and my turbo blew up. I just need to know what kinda gasket i need to bolt it on. Thanks

PM: Sorry i've been wrenching on the car over the past couple of weeks :)

What size of injectors do you plan on running with the 60-1? I would say 850's are the bare minimum with a 60-1 and you are not going to be able to control those with a safc. At the minimum you will need to have your ecu socketed and chipped to be able to control that large of an injector. If you try and control anything larger than a 650 with an afc, you will get absolutely crazy timing and LOTS of knock. And as we all know, lots of knock = kaboom!
