Ok i was on my way to a friends house today going about 40 and my car just made a jult and the motor shut off right we got it to his house i looked it over i cant see anythign wroung with it there was no oil or anything were it shut off in the road....it turns over but will not start.I was thinking i blew the motor but if it still turns over then it is not blow there is no oil leaking out anywere....what could it be it is getting fuel and everything but it just turns over....could it be a fuse, coil pack, one of the spark plugs?

the motor has 154 thousand miles it......it is a 1996 eclipse rs

anyone know what is going on?

Go check to see if your getting spark. While your there you might as well check your fuses as well. Then come back and tell us what you found.

How do you know it's getting fuel? Coil pack/wires/plugs--fuel... definitely check timing belt (also check for jumped timing) along with compression. If it is getting fuel do a pressure test to see if you're getting enough

if there was a 'jolt' i would bet timing, hope nothing broke
