I have a 95 TSI that isn't getting fuel. I turn over the car and I have compression and spark, but I don't hear the fuel pump kick on to prime itself. I pulled out the relay, I have the gold colored one with the pump relay and ignition control relay all in one (I think correct me if I am wrong). Since I didn't know which pins to test and how I simply jumped the fuelpump straight out. It still doesn't start.

What should I do next? Would the CPU prevent it from starting if I just directly jumped the pump?

EDIT: What is the gold colored module called so I can order a new one? Autozone only has the pump relay individually.

What you need to do is determine if the pump is getting power. Lets see (awd) pull the back seat out and remove the inspection cover for the pump. Hook up a test light and have someone turn on the key. You need to be ready to test for power because it will only stay on for about 10 seconds when you turn on the key.If there is no power then start checking fuses and relays. If you have power then you likely need a new fuel pump. Keep us posted. Travis

I have tested the fuel pump by pulling the line off of the fuel rail and turning the key to start. It spits out gas. I also put new plugs in and reconnected the fuel line and tried turning it over with no luck.

Last night I thought of another dynamic to this problem. When I was driving my lower intercooler pipe blew off. I was close to home so I limped it home. It now occurs to me the computer measures airflow before the turbo. So if it is expecting all this air to come in it would be adding alot of gas. Could such a rich mixture of A/F have caused serious problems in my engine? As far as I know it was only damaging to lean out.
