Woking with a small amount of money i would probably do something small to the car, like a boost controler and a SAFCII or something along those lines. If you plan to upgrade your turbo and fuel eventually these are going to be very usefull. Plus if you up the boost and tune it a little you should get some good hp increases. Good luck with your project.d

you can get the following to help out

safc- $100-$200.00
MBC- $30-50.00
boost gauge- $30.00
DP off of ebay- $125.00

You can normally find a dp used for a decent price also, i got mine used for 65.00

or if you want to go a different route

14b turbo - $100.00
2g install kit from ebay- $100.00
safc1- $100.00
boost gauge- 50.00
mbc- 50.00

there you go, a couple good performance setups for around the $400.00 mark, you can always find stuff used for a great price.

You could probably get a downpipe, high flow cat, boost controller and a boost gauge for 400 bucks if you look in the right places. You could probably make 60 or so hp from this if you turned the boost up...

These are also things that your going to need down the road, but its up to you. Good luck mate:thumb:

Id say:

14B $100-150 ( while you have the turbo out and exhaust manifold out port it all )
MBC $55
now you have 200 left. You could use that to get a FMIC and do the piping yourself. ($125)
Or even get a kit that go for around 200 if your lucky.
If you do the piping yourself you'll have cash left to get the SS line youll need for the 14B install and the which is about $55.
Other 45 you could use for getting your gaskets.

just my 2 cents. 14B is much better than the T2small. Very good improvement over stock turbo.

I know I'm still considered a NEWB, but how do you guys expect him to tune with the SAFC if he doesn't have at bare minimum a logger?

I say SAFC-I ($100)
Part together a logger (I did it for about $60 and can get you links, PM me)
MBC ($30 - 50)
Boost Gauge ($35 - 40)
14b ($100)

And start learning how to tune to optimize what you have. Then, as you continue to mod, you can take use the benefit of each mod.

Underground performance has megan racing 3inch for 110 can't beat that, get a mbc, and safc, enjoy the car alil, after that look into fuel and clutch

im sorry guys i completely forgot to mention that the car in my profile is not my car anymore....the one i have now is automatic with a MBC already installed...it boosts 17 psi max and than sits at 15 psi to about 6000 rpms....it has a 17 psi wastegate as well....the SAFC sounds like a good idea and maybe even that 14b turbo...i also already have a boost gauge....i'm really sorry i forgot to mention all this

Well with the updated info you can def do a lot. I would get the safc a front mount and a logger. That will run you in the 300-400 dollar range if you go with a ebay front mount and piping kit. I wouldnt go with the 14b turbo for 2 reasons. 1) It is a small turbo and 2) It is going to be used. Save your money and buy a used 16g. Why upgrade to another stock turbo? your next 600 should be for a 16g and some injectors. Good luck with the project.
