I have a 90 and i put a 90 eprom in the car and now the rpms when driving bounce and it jerks the car around while driving. What could be the problem? Is it not a 90 eprom or is there something special you have to do?

If its not a 90,it will act goofy like that since it uses a different coil pack and ignition pack.Just check the part number.Any easy way to tell is that a 90 ecu will have the numbers stamped on in black marker.91+ will have it on a big white label on the front of the case.

It is def a 90 any idea what could cause the car to act like this ?

I was wondering if this eprom has been rebuilt? It might just be a bad ecu. My friend got a 90 eprom out of a junk yard and I tested it in my brothers 90 and it did the same thing you described.

It has been socketed and chipped and yes the ecu should be fine ran in another guys car before no problems. Do you think the ecu is the problem or not ? The ecu was changed along with fuel pump and injectors and timing belt.

Nvm, My dsm god has fixed the problem. Thanks for the help though.
