Ok, my car is away for the winter, and while it is off the road, before i put it back on in the spring, i wanted to buy some maintenance parts for it before anything bad happens, just want to make sure i dont miss anything, im not going too hardcore, just pretty much basic, if anyone else can tell me any other parts that would be good as well to add on top, thanks;

1 - new plugs/wires
2 - timing belt, tb-idler pulley, tb-tensioner pulley, tb- tensioner adjuster
3 - balance shaft belt, balance tensioner pulley
4 - water pump
5 - need a new starter

also, on one of the sites i was looking at (ongreenperformance), they had stuff that is made by GMB & Conitech, which they claim is a OEM for :dsm: , but i just want to make sure with you guys if you know if its true, if anyone can fill me in.

- extremepsi & ongreenperformance & diamondstarmotorsports are the sites in which i was looking at, if someone knows of a better site in which has everything on one site at a good price, it would be appreciated if you could tell me

- thanks

I would be interested in knowing about this as well if anyone has any info. I was told by someone that Contitech is the oem manufacturer of Mitsu timing belts. Can anyone confirm this? Just wondering because I have an extra brand new Contitech in the garage and was going to use it when I do the belt again later this winter.

While you are in the area you might as well replace the accesory belts as well, alternator belt, Powersteering belt and AC belt. Check all your seals as well, make sure none are leaking, do a boost leak test seal up anything that is leaking such as injector seals, throttlebody seals etc. Change any fluids that are in need of it, coolant, oil change?
Also, have you ever had your front case and oil pump replaced? If not do that while you are there, cheap insurance and easy to do while you are there. Other than that Id say you are set.

you might wanna consider removing the balance shafts. Do you really want to risk your engine when that belt snaps and screw up your timing? i just did mine and took me about 4 hours (my first time). Just my 2 cents

Contitech makes a high quality product:thumb: They do make our OE belts, As well as VW audi, Porsh, volvo, benzo to name a few. I got a complete contitech timing kit with gmb pump for 95 bucks shipped from e bay. If you take the time and use the thread's as a tool you would be very surprised what ?'s you can get answers to without asking. Most if not all car makers do not make the part's that make up your car. They buy them cheap from contitech ink a diamond star box and number and say her 60 bucks for a 22 dollar belt. And you buy them. Go to the dealership if you cant find it @ all. Your buying an aftermarket made product with OEM packing. and paying way way way to much at that. My outer valve cover bolt's dealer 29 bucks, Napa 9.94 with tax out the door. Timing belt OE mitsu @ satan around 70 bucks just for the timing belt, @ a contitech dealer umm what was that ohhhh 30 for timing and balance shaft belt's. Oh and what was that I said up there Contittech makes our OEM belt's.

And consider that advise from gst fuel filer is never a bad idea. O2 is DEF never a bad idea when in doubt pull it out. Also while you are there check for leak's in your VAC lines and the condition of the lines if you have them. I also tend to check the thermostat when doing a timing job I also check all my mount's and everything else axle's, free play in your dirve shaft. Check the condition of your trans oil and the trans case and rear diff. Inspect around your oil fittings on your feed and return lines on the turbo for leaks's check the pan for leak's. While you have the plug's out you may as well do a compression test. Check your ball joint's and tie rod end's. Check your other betl's out power steering etc. I check everything 2 times and again :banghead: but its worth it in the end when I don't have prob's with my car.
