engine year

I've search this but no one knows the real answer. I have a 4G63T that I bought but need to know the year of the motor. The only answers I found here are only what years the motor came out of like 91-94 or something. Is there anyway to tell the exact year of the motor. For Hondas, they have the year stamped right on the head.

The 4G63T ran in the eclipse from 1990 on up to I believe 1999 (Im a 1st gen guy) Some one correct me If I am wrong. The real question is it a 6 bolt or a 7 bolt. The 6 bolt ran from 1990-early 1992. If you have the motor sitting there just check the crank shaft were the flywheel bolts on does it have 6 bolts or 7. Also the oilpan will stick out on the driver side a little on a 6 bolt.

I already know if it's a 6 or 7 bolt. I need to know the year because when you swap it into another car, the engine needs to be the same year or newer than the car you're putting it into.

Look up the vin number thats on the back of the block(tranny) right under the head surface.
