Sometimes, when driving, my car builds boost but the rpm stays at around 2+k and doesn't go up. Also, I do not feel the increase in power that boosting usually creates. I'm thinking it might be my auto tranny slipping. Any ideas about what might be the problem?

If your tranny was slipping the rpm would go up so good chance thats not it. If its actually building boost but not much power it could be a bad case of knock. Do you have a logger?
What boost are you running? If it's knock then the ecu is pulling the ign timing back to try and control the knock resulting in a loss of power.

Have you tried a boost leak test yet becuase that would cause your boost to build but not have any power.
Also are you running stock IC piping? I know in my 2g i have a bad leak around my BOV. So just giving you places to check becuase i have had that exact same problem.

I think it might be knock. However, it happens usually at around 2-8psi. I do not have a boost controller but I usually drive around 12-15 although at wot it goes up to 18+psi for some reason. I don't have a way to tune my car yet :( I'm gonna do a boost leak check. It doesn't happen at high boost. Like illiclipse said, it only happens when I drive around normally too. :(
