I see the red latch and I slide it out of the way but I can't slide the sunroof out... I don't want to force anything, I've never tried taking it out before. Is it stuck, or is there a trick?

Thanks

I have more Noob questions in post # 8:dsm:

If you have the latch undone push up the rear of the glass and when you get it as far as it'll easily go wiggle it back and it should pull out. Thats all from memory and if you need more i'll go out to my car and do it real quick and post step by step. Pretty easy :thumb:

You have to use the red switch buttin thing then hold oit take 2 fingers on the polished part of the latch and sweeze them in tward eachother and pull down then tilt the roof up and pull back, sounds liek a pain i know but once you do it once or 2 times it will take less than 15 seconds to ge the thing off and enjoy the sunn:D

Once you get the rear lifter/clasp free, stand on the driver's side with the door open, raise the glass to about 45° and gently pull the glass toward you. The hinges come free of the pins and the glass is free. WD-40 them before re-assembling.

and once you get good at it you can take it out from inside the car while you wait for the redlight to change. just dont smack your passenger in the head with it when you bring it into the car :D

Thanks, i would go out right now and do it but we just got our first winter storm... She's gonna be staying in for a while!!! BTW the car also came with some sort of wind dam to go in place of the glass when it's out.. Was this a factory accesory or aftermarket? Thanks Again!

I bought the car from the orriginal owner 101k. She just had the timing belt replaced and all the other 100k replacements. I couldn't have found a better little starter DSM. I have found a few problems that are getting my attention, Caps on the ECU, ball joints, and things like that...

I have 4 large cracks in my manifold. Will this effect the turbo? Would I be better off just getting an after market header, or would a ported 2g be just as good! I'm not into huge power just want to go fast enough to beat my friends 01 super charged mustang 428hp on tap and still only runs 12.7... I want a better et with less.

I havent searched yet but is there a way to tell if I have a Big16g or just a 16g?

Thanks again

Cracked manifolds are a common problem with 1G's. If the cracks are large enough, the exhaust leaks will increase turbo lag. An easy fix is to replace with a 2G manifold, or an Evo3 manifold (no porting required with this one).

As for finding the difference between the 16G varieties:

The part number is stamped on the compressor housing.

12.7 is doable with the Evo3 16G, provided you have a good foot, a good tune, and know how to launch properly.

Definatly a a noob question here but how do you "tune" our cars? I know how I had my Mustang tuned. 80$ per hour for the Dyno and 250$ for my tuner to put in a switchable tune... What does that mean for our DSM's? Thanks
