i'm about to replace my clutch and i'm going with a ACT 2600 pressure plate and stock disc mated to it, due to get a good deal on it, I don't plan on my car being insanely fast, but I want about 350hp, will this clutch setup be able to hold at least 300hp?

I would if I had the money, but it's my daily driver and I need it back on the road ASAP. So buying the disc is not even a option.

Ok all I have to say is dont get a 2600. My mechanic has installed more act clutch's than he could ever count. I asked him and he said they through out TOB all the time. My brother had to replace his at ACT TOB at about 10k miles after the swap. Now he has an OEM TOB and its already starting to make a lot of bearing noise. He also said they dont last more than about a year. I would go with a quality clutch that will last a long time.

A lot of people, including myself, have used ACT clutches for years with no problems. It's common knowledge their TO bearings are garbage, most shops that sell the ACT clutch include an OEM TO bearing instead of the ACT bearing. My brother has had his ACT 2600 for almost 3 years now, it still has plenty of disc left.

I have had nothing but problems with the ACT clutches. As stated by JayRolla they take out the TOB. I have personally removed 3 that have had the pressure plates come apart. One only having a few hundred miles on it. If you are straped for cash I would look at getting a stock one from a parts store for the the time being. If you have to use the parts you have, make it a temporary fix as AWD are hard on clutches. It would be better to come up with the cash now for a good clutch then have to come up with the money for a trashed trany. Not to mention the work involved with the R & R of doing a clutch on your AWD.

Like GVR4592 said, just buy the 2600 kit which comes with the act disc and a OEM throw out bearing...I have had the 2600 on my dsm's for 3 years and have only replaced the disc once! The 2600 is the way to go, like they all say, "do it once, do it right."

When I first bought my 90 talon 2 years ago, the guy told me he had barely installed a new "racing" clutch. When I picked up the car, the clutch felt stock and in the trunk was the box. It was an EXEDY racing clutch. I was reading the box trying to find out what was the pedal pressure over stock when I ran into the EXEDY Warning label that said something like DO NOT OVERSTRESS ANY COMPONENT OF THE CLUTCH, MAY OVERHEAT AND CAUSE IT TO EXPLODE! wtf! I was so scared to rev it high until I bought an ACT2600 the following week. Oh yeah and I picked up the car south of San Diego and I live just south of San Jose....yeah that was an 8 hour terrified road trip home!

p.s. For any product out in the market you will always be able to find a couple of people with their horror stories about the product...If ACT sold 1000 clutches and 5 came out bad/broke, what are the odds??? You do the math.

Hey buddy, you have a 1G, if money is so tight that you cant afford the entire kit, dont bother with a 2600. Because after thats in, your slave cylinder will quit. You will scrounge up money to fix it, and your master will quit. You say you dont want it insanely fast but about 350hp? thats pretty impressive i'd say for a Dailyer. If moneys tight stay away from the 2600 because with that clutch comes broken parts.

I didn't have a problem with neither the slave or master cylinders when I installed the 2600 on my 1g...it took a little clutch pedal adjustment to work right but nothing major. On the 2g, the 2600 required a longer rod. Maybe I am just one of the lucky ones. Like I said before, everything is a gamble.
