So how much of a bi*** is it to replace, I currently don't have access to Alldata so really have no step by step instructions, I do have a Haynes Repair manual, but it doesn't go much into detail. How much i'm I looking at spending on a Heater Core and how many hours should it take, I'm sure this is the problem the hose on the firewall was leaking a bit, so I replaced it, and the radiator had a leak and I replaced that, and I noticed a strong smell of coolant in the car about 2 days after replacing my bad radiator, and my shoes were always slippery and I looked up under the pedals and I see spots and stains of where coolant is leaking from. Car is a 93 TSI AWD

You have to remove the entire dash to get to it. Once you get the dash out it should be pretty straight forward. The first time I took my dash out it took about 2 hours to get out and an hour or so to get it back in.

alright thanx, that's what i've been hearing, so pretty much just ripping away at the dash is what kills the time, the car is my daily driver, so I would kind of have to work on it in stages so I could drive it if I had parts of the dash off and then on the final stages finish it off.

It would be best to just do it all at one time. Without the dash you'll have no guage cluster or anything. The dash comes out in one big piece. The only parts that separate are the glove box and the black parts. It's really not as bad as you've undoubtedly heard. All you need to get the dash out is a philips head screw driver, a 10mm socket, an extension, and some patients. I know what it's like to use your DSM as a DD. It's a little rough at times but I see no reason to prolong the repair especially with winter fast approaching.

^LOL winter is already here, and i've been freezing my ass off for about the last 2 months, I can stand not having A/C but no heat is killing me.
