Oshawa,
Alright, in the next couple weeks I'm getting my timing belt changed, and I Was wondering what this was exactly?

Is it something that I should replace while replacing my timing belt, pullies, and water pump ?

Also, I was quoted, with parts, 450CDN dollars with tax to change my timing belt, timing belt tensioners, and water pump. Is that a good price? And any idea where I can get some nice gears for my timing belt?

Is it better than sticking with a balancing belt ?

Is it "better"? Only you can answer that question. It depends on whether you are willing to give up a smoother idle or not. Please read through the link I gave you. That should answer some of your questions as to whether it will suit you or not.

According to your profile, you have the 420A engine in your 1995 Talon's engine bay. Assuming that the company that you gave the second link to is correct (and looking at their application chart), the belt will not appropriately fit your engine. So you are looking at the wrong part. Thus, if everything above is correct, then that part you gave the second link to will not fit your application.

Here is what I am looking at regarding your second link (and what you should have already noticed):

Application:
-1990-1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse-All
-1990-1994 Eagle Talon -All
-1990-1994 Plymouth Laser -All
-1991-1992 Galant VR-4
-1995-1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse Turbo-All
-1995-1998 Eagle Talon Turbo-All
- Please include a note with payment of Year, Make and Model of Vehicle

ya, I figured that, but I'm checking for a 420a balancing belt and I can't find anything, I was figuring that it'd be the same

Oh, and no, I don't want to give up a smooth idle. But is it really that much better for the engine ?

like said You have the a 420a much differtent then the 4g63 all the parts you posted are for a 4g63 1g turbo and non and a 2g turbo.
I don't know if 420a's have a balence shaft but I will check and get back to you.

Edit: the 420a does have a balence shaft belt but I chould not find much on it.

It doesn't effect the idle. It just effects how much the motor vibrates at idle. If you have stock motor mounts you won't hardly notice it.
