Chilliwack,
What are the best springs to lower an eclipse spyder GS-T? I dont feel like spending $400, but at the same time I want something good quality.

Well to start you in the right direction, you need to decide how much drop you want to go with. Do you have stock or aftermarket struts? The stock struts do not hold up to well when they are lowered with springs. I would recommend either some new struts and springs or coilovers but neither of those 2 options will run you under 400 dollars brand new.

If you just want some springs and a decent drop, i would go with Eibach.

<--- I'm sure there's numerous threads already on this subject. Keep in mind the Eclipse's practically no travel struts will just hit the bump stops with lowering springs (that doesn't mean we all havn't done it) but if you want springs that will lower the car as much as possible get Eibach Sportlines (1.6 inch drop) but it'll ride like $hit and just hit the bumpstops when you hit a pothole

ive got eibachs on my car and i like them alright, but the best springs ive ever had was some teins

I got some sprint springs for 70 bucks from the junkyard and some agx's for 300 bucks off ebay. Thats as cheap as you cando it. Good luck finding aftermarket springs for a 2g spyder used though. I guess you could get some gr-2 with some eibach pro-kits. It will still ride like ass because the gr-2's don't like to be dropped and I'm sure they wont last their full 60k mile life. If I was you I would just suck it up and spend a little more so you can get a little bet better ride and handling. or search on ebay, they got tokico springs and shock kits for about 400 bucks.

Well, I have Tein Type S springs and KYB GR-2 Struts. It's a decent ride considering the springs were 130, and the struts were 40 each.....I only spent 250. I'm planning on getting better struts however ### it's starting to get on my nerves. I would suggest not cheaping out on those and get the KYB AGX's or something similar in quality from Tokiko.

I have two 2G's and I have had Tokico Illuminas with Eibach sportlines and thought they were fine on my fwd. A little stiff but gives the car the right stance. If roads really suck where you are at maybe get the Pro Kit. Bu they can't be much worse than PA roads and the sportlines were fine. I now have the tokico blue's and eibach sportlines on a awd and feel it is a decent ride.
