Easy Water Temp Question

Should only take a few minutes after the car is driving (be sure to idle a little before diriving to warm it up a bit first)

Operating temp should be 200 degrees give or take about 10.

If you're stuck at 160-170 you should check your thermostat. It might be a low temp one or it might be stuck open (does your temperature take a long time to climb and fluctuate a lot?)

Thanks for your reply again. The temps are very stable cruising..even boosting i'm generally around 170.

200 degrees = opt temperature? I'm almost certain it's a low temp thermostat then. At idle it takes long to get to 160 ish. When the car starts it gets up there pretty fast.

The car is a 6 bolt in a 2g. still 200 deg?

Your questions have already been answered.

Anywhere from 190-210 is fine. I usually see no more than 190-195 unless I'm sitting in traffic at which point it'll rise to 200-205 and then go back down as soon as I start driving again. Runniing as cold as you do prevents the motor from getting full timing as well.

And this fully explains why my car has been really hurting on higher gear pulls. 1st gear is a beaut! then 2nd half reduction, third is hmm, 4th you dont even know when the boost kicks in..

I'll take my car coming back to life as a christmas present! :D
