Ok so my transmission went from working perfectly to cant get it in gear at all. Even at a stand still it will not go into gear. Does anyone know what went wrong with it? Im thinking internally but im not sure. Should i go ahead and see if my local junk yard has a tranny for a 96 talon esi manual tranny?

Thank-You
Tony

PS. If anyone in maryland has one that i can take off there hads for cheap let me know!

PSS. Need help fast i dont have another car!

Before you start freaking out check the hydraulics.

Check the fluid level in the clutch reservoir. If it's low, then check the slave cylinder (front of the tranny, pull the boot back and check for leakage) or the master cylinder (behind the clutch pedal, pull the carpet back and check for leakage).

EH im not really freaking out becuase i knew it was going to happen ... the car has 200k miles on it and its a piece of crap. Well with the motor off i know its not the tranny anymore becuase i can get it in gear with the motor off. I believe it is the master or slave cyl.. When i stick it in 1st and start the car with the clutch still all the way in the car goes forward. That would be caused by the cluth not disengaging right?

O could that be the clutch also?
