Problem instaling injectors

so i took off my fuel rail, took out my 450's and along with the 450's came out these plastic "caps" and i have no idea what they were for. The 550's i bought are slightly longer than the 450's but the plastic cap pieces dont even seal for the 450's around the nozzle. does anyone know what these plastic caps are or about the difference in length of the 450's vs the 550's? i can post up some cell phone pics if need be.

I think he's talking stock insulator not fitting around the pintle cap, I suspect he has a FIC 550 or the likes which requires different injector insultors as well as spacera on the fuel rail side.

I just find that strange since my FIC's came with new lower seals, o-rings and insulators.

Dug this up for reference, thought it may help.

If there are only 3 larger "plastic pieces" in question then they are the fuel rail spacers. More than 3 pieces, check the link.

Note that #1 in the picture shows the Pintle Cap, the Insulator is not in the picture. The Insulator sorrounds the Pintle Cap and seals the injector to the head. Over time these rubber seals age and appear to be plastic. If they are indeed the Insulators then they should fit nicely in the holes where the injectors fit in the head.

Oldman is right, if you have the FIC style injectors they require different insulators than stock.
