So I need help on this quick. I'm still having trouble with the install of my 50 trim. I think going to a N/T water pipe would help, but I only see this being told to 1g's. Would the gs waterpipe work for me? How much smaller is it really?

Yea i tried denting it, cracked the o-ring. I've reached the end of my limits. I'm taking it to Big10 to have them do it for me tomorrow. I was just wondering if the N/T would work better so they don't have to dent it.

Heh, I did. It had so much fitment issues. The turbo itself hit the block as well when installed too. I grinded that down though. I just think I reached the end of my patience this time around.

which 50 trim is this? i was thinking about going 50 probably next summer but if its gonna be this much trouble.....

what turbo header are you using, this is another large factor on the fitment, I have a garrett 50 trim and all that had to be done was gently dent the waterline by using a block and hitting it with a hammer small amounts at a time. If you have a header that does not hang the turbo far enough out, you will have poor clearance issues. check all that out to

oh man thats a ton of money...

but yeah i think its all because of the "bolt on" characteristics that allow it to bolt on to the mitsu style manifolds.

the t3/t4 50 trims dont require you to bend the water pipe, but then you need to get a custom o2 housing and i also heard the stock fans dont fit. so you would have to get thinner aftermarket fans.

LOL 997. good thing it wasnt a grand tho :D

So the shop i tried to get to do the water pipe for me, just because it pissed me off so much, wouldn't do it because they don't feel comfortable working on a turbocharged vehicle. Isn't that a load of horse crap?
So I'm gonna do it myself. I know its not hard, but I just get pushed to that limit sometimes. Gotta wait til friday for the part though.

while you are at it, just completly remove the radiatior fan on the turbo side (unless aftermarket slimlines) It gives me alot more room in my engine bay. Also, I am not sure but could it be that the 2G oem manifold doesnt stick out far enough???

Clock the compressor cover, the reason people use the nt water pipe is because it doesnt have the water supply in it for a turbo. Which you have to cap. You also have to plug the one on the block. Another thing you cant use a 1g water pipe without a 1g thermostat housing. So if you are a 2g and have the stock 2g head no dice, but it is not needed, this is really and truly bolt on with minor tweaking.

Ok, I already took care of capping off the coolant feed and return. I think the main reason for the fitment issue is the flange size of the 2g oem manifold. yea, I remove the fans when working on it. Only takes a second to do so I don't see a reason why to struggle with them in there.

Mk i'm getting extremly frustrated I Have the New exhuast manifold and still put in the dented pipe. the manifold gave more clearance and with the dented pipe i figured i had it for good. Got everything in there and started up the car. Sounds like a plane and there are exhuast fumes comeing off the manifold. the turbo was still touching the water pipe but i was hoping everything was bolted down good enough. Looks like it wasent. so I pulled the pipe back out and really put a hammering on it, Now it bends so it wont Reach the termostat housing. Guess the only thing to do is buy a new pipe and GENTLY hit it.
