I replaced fuel filter and injectors, got the system primed, I start the car and sputters then dies. so i stay on the throttle for a couple minutes ans let go and the car runs fine. I figured it was ok, so i turn it off and let it sit for a couple hours and go to start it and does the same thing. what could this possibly be? after I sit and rev it for like 3-5 min the car drives perfectly fine even better than before. Ive checked everything, nothing is left unplugged.

after i sit on the throttle for a few it idles and drives perfectly. I just dont want to sit and rev my car for 5 min everytime i start it. I am aiming toward something fuel related, but cant figure it out

Ok, so I think I've found what you need to help ya out. I did some looking around and found this page from the vfaq. http://www.dsm.org/how-tos/JFM/HotStart.html

Here are a few things to try:

1) Block off your EGR valve. Sometimes these fail, and when they do, this is what happens. It happened on my car, then I put in a block-off plate and everything was great. They also cool your intake noticably, and you'll never have to clean your TB ever again! To get one of these great little things, send some email to my mentor, Frank Szymkowski.

2) Change your vaccum hoses, especially the one going to the fuel-pressure regulator. Sometimes this one leaks and creates problems for the FPR.

3) Change your plug wires. I'd use some MagnaCore wires. They're less $$$ than the stock ones, and they're 8.5mm opposed to the stock 6mm. The stock wires are no good, especially when raising the boost.

4) Clean your throttle body REALLY well. Make it spotless, including both sides of the throttle plate.

5) Clean out your intercooler. Do this by taking it out, dump about a gallon of gasoline into it, then shake it around and dump out. Repeat process until gas coming out is clean.

These if any of that helps.

I will try that egr thing and I actually have wires coming to me by tues. everything else is brand new and really clean or have been replaced. Is there anyway the fuel system can loose its pressure without leaking somewhere?

I can think of that nipple on the intake manifold for the fuel pressure regulator. check to see if thats in good shape and is in on there. As well as all the vac lines running to and from the fuel pressure sender and solenoid.

did you disconnect the battery before changing your injectors? Sometimes you have to take your car through a couple of drive cycles before it will relearn a few values. If thats not the case the car still does that.. I'm thinkin leaky injector? is it hard to start or hard to idle?
