I just installed a remanufactured transmission and a stage 3 spec clutch i just started my car up today and even at idle it shakes a lot and there is a scraping noise toward the front driver side wheel. Any ideas?

Im guessing maybe the drivers axle and maybe bad motor mounts. If all you did was the clutch and tranny and it wasnt there before I would look over your work. check the axles, did you torque everything with a torque wrench?

it almost seems like the clutch is off balance if that is possible?..... but i thought of changing the motor mounts. When i put everything back together i had my father tighten everything right behing me to make sure everything was tight enough. Today one of my radiator hoses blew off so i will have to fix that as well probably just replpace them.

we didnt tighten them with a torque wrench but we did tighten them as much as possible. Can it be too tight? my car idles at about 750 rpms. thanks for the help guys

I recently just bought my 2nd 1g. While I was out for a drive, out of nowhere, my car started vibrating like mad during idle and really bad at 2k. My clutch was also starting to slip. When I got home, I noticed my bellhousing was separated from my engine. Might wanna look that over, for the 4 bolts are all different lengths. Hope that helps.

thanks ill check that out i finally got my coolant system working again so i can drive it again thanks again for the reply

yea man that isn't good, if you tighten your clutch pressure plate as much as possible then you are going to have really bad problems, they only call for about 17-18 ft. lbs. which is like a flick of the wrist when using a torque wrench. If you tightened them as much as possible you will have problems
