Hi Everyone, This is a very long thread so if you don't have patience then please back out. Thanks...
I am mixed up upon my future decisioning. I have a 4G63 NT 2.0L DSM.
I was really going with the idea of a turbo kit. Not the turbo conversion, but a kit like a honda for instance.
The kit would consist of 14B Turbo, Exhaust Manifold, FWD Downpipe, 450 Injectors, Injector Resistor Pack, Turbo MAF, Turbo ECU, 1G BOV, SMIC, OEM Plumbing, all new turbo related gaskets and copper rings ect ect and a full new metal head gasket and arp head studs with all new timing parts, new plugs gapped colder, datalogger, safc, egt, boost gauge, and 93+ Octane 100% of the time.
I already bought the turbo. I am going to have a buddy of mine supply me with 70% of the parts for almost free.
The headgasket, timing, arp and all that and all the electronics will cost alot.
Now I already understand the whole weaker NT pistons, and there seat and all that however I really didnt want to get into tearing into the block. I REALLY didnt want to.
Now my second plan was to pull the head and replace with eagle/ross combo forged everything, new valve train, and everything else as of up there ^. Now that would be the safer and more powerful better way but that is also extremly expensive with the machine shops costs and part costs ect.
The third plan was to put it in the autotrader and many other places, Asking 2,500. The car is in very good condition thats why. I beleive for 2,500 I could find at least a 1G GS-T.
Now the third plan seems to be the easiest but I do NOT want to sell my car. I feel that since its my first car I would like to keep it. I have gone through alot with it so I want to keep it.
The motor also needs a good overhaul which is another reason that turns me to rebuilding.
The fourth plan was to stay non-turbo. However I would never see over 170 HP max Im not to fond of that plan at all.
Now, If I had the money the Second Plan would be the one I would perfer the most.
But I have no job right now, and I am currently looking for one. But at 16, minimum wage isnt any better then 7/hr.
I have like 2.50 to my name right now.
This is what makes it confusing. I would love to see this car be a 750 WHP DSM.
Please let me know what you guys think of the plans.
#1 Turbo Kit - Much Cheaper and Easier
#2 Full Rebuild and Turbo Kit - Much More Difficult and expensive but safer
#3 Sell and Buy GS-T Easiest quickest but most depression (rofl)
#4 Stay NT. - sucks sucks sucks
Thanks

. I had a 96 Talon N/T and was in love with everything about the car except for the lack of performance and the lack of potential performance. I saved up for a while, sold the car, and found a 97 GST that was immaculant. It took me a little longer to save up for a 2G but a cheap 1G would be a great way to go.
but you really do need to make relistic goals fix your profile and then come back and we will help you out the best we can.
