5th gear, 2 grand to 3 grand lag

I was just wondering is it normal to have lag when in 5th when I push the throttle to the floor and it lags between 2 and 3 grand. Once above 3 grand problem goes away. Thanks

yeah, your just lugging the engine. I would assume that your not building good boost until around that 3000rpm mark (probably a little before) thats why it takes off from there.

Turbo doesn't build full boost until ~3000 so it is going to be running very rich until it gets to full boost.

Ok thanks so this doesn't have anything to do with needing new plugs and wires, and also I already did a boost leak test and had no leaks.

I have a 14b right now and a bad exhaust leak i dont build boost till 3800rpm. trust me its normal in 5th to not build boost right away thats why we have manuals. So you drop it down into thrid or 4th.

If your going to floor it you should just downshift, obviously you want some power if you are flooring it and flooring it at 3000 just seems odd to me.

Its odd for you because your a n/t. We start to get power at or below 3k. If you had a turbo you would understand.
