Can anyone tell me what might have happened to my piston. I just rebilt the head on a jdm motor and drove it for about 3 miles. I did not here any sound of pre ignition or anything out of the ordinary. Here's a picture. I have yet to find the missing peace, I'm thinking it may have went through the exaust since it happen over the exaust valves. Please help

Take a better picture and then we will be able to tell .....hard to answer looking at the fuzzy pic

Looks like a big hunk of your piston is missing. If your timing is off then your valves could have done this by hitting the top of the piston. But then you would most likely have bent valves also. Post a better pic.
