1G-specific Third gear grind.

Hey well i was having some 3rd gear grinding issues and i put in pennzoil synchromesh. It awesome all my geras are smoother but my third still grinds. The thing is that i think its the synchronizer but it only grinds when it gets to normal temperatures not in the cold or in the morning. Can it still be the synchro? Out of topic sometimes when i floor the car and i let it go my 1st gear wont go in, it'll go to third instead until like 2 min. pass by? Any info appreciated.

It's a bad synchonizer. Some can be band-aided with Synchromesh but contrary to what many people believe it doesn't fix it. It just band-aids the problem for a while. Your first gear problem could be because of a bent shifter cable or possibly what you have is the nut on the outside of your transmission is loose which causes misalignment and issues. That could be the cause of both. Although highly unlikely it's worth a shot. Look here:

Second picture down. 2 36mm nuts that should be torqued to 120ft lbs. I have seen them come lose and cause grindling problems. Worth a shot. Remove all the outside bolts and pry it off. Remove fluid first of course.

Yes its still your syncro. The car doesnt grind when its cold b/c the fluid is " thicker " When the car engine bay heats up it will heat the tranny and thin out the fluid, causing the grinding to become noticeable again.
