would hitting bumps and randomly making my car sputter be a symptom of a failing MAF?

short descripton:

when i hit bumps or sometimes just randomly my car will sputer and miss.. i could be driving for an hour just fine, and all of the sudden it will start missing and wont let me accelerate without sputtering..etc..

injectors resistance: all are fine

i just replaced the fuel filter today to see if that would help and now its running as if the MAF is unplugged? it will start and run for 4 seconds then die. so i unplugged the MAF and it did the same.. would hitting bumps and randomly making my car sputter be a symptom of a failing MAF?

it will now stay idle but run super rough. im gonna swap out my MAF with an autozone one tomorrow..

any ideas?

My Maxima did exactly the same thing. It was the MAF.

One thing, I was told rebuilt MAFs aren't alway reliable and it's true. Got one from NAPA. Car ran great for about 2 months then started running really rich, like belching black smoke rich. Turned out the rebuilt MAF puked.

I would check the resistance of the spark plug wires. They can cause intermittent issues like you are describing.

ok i have an update.

i can keep the thing running now.. it seems to be running on two cylinders?

i can unplug injectors 2 and 3 while its running and it be fine.. but when i unplug either 1 or 4 it dies. what does that tell me? also when i unplug the MAF is doesnt run MUCH different. could my injectors be giving me a false reading? and making it look like my MAF?
