p-ville,
hey, i was wanting to get my cat removed in my 95 talon, since i already have a cat back, and my dp is comming any day now, the only problem is none of the garages around here want to take it out for me because there is a sensor behind it? but there are lots of 2g's running catless systems, so i was wondering what bad will happen if i do take the sensor out and what to i have to do to make it safe????:talon:

some DSM cars don't throw CELs, my brothers car was one that likes to throw a CEL for any possible reason it can. What I did was took a spark plug anti-fowler in the correct thread/pitch (I'm thinking it was 18mmx1.5 - may be wrong). The anti-fowler was hard to find for that pitch, I just happened to be at this small parts store on a different side of town and scoped it. I then filled the bottom hole with weld (make sure that 2nd sensor doesn't read any exhaust gasses). I opted to drill 3 holes in the piece so the sensor got some nice fresh air to breath.

The end result fits cleanly under the car and I don't have to worry about the sensor wiggling around on me, it's plugged into it's intended spot with a small spacer.

Of course I could have wired up a simulator but I opted for the cheaper fix.

I don't know if you live in an Emissions state, but you will be fined and fail the test if you get an emissions test done and you don't have a catalytic converter. I think the fine is $2,000 it is a Federal Offense to tamper with or remove the catalytic converter. I know lots of people do it and I would do it if I could afford the fine if I were to get fined, but I just wanted you to know what you were getting yourself into. They are illegal unless used strictly for race track or off road purposes.
