Hey guys...

I noticed my car starting to backfire at WOT at around 4k rpm, and according to some of my friends, Ill shoot a flame with a little smoke. What could be causing this? Im recircing my bov, so it cant be that...this started after I installed my apexi n1 tbe. Im running no rear o2 sensor...could that be the problem? It has an o2 plug in it, so it isnt a leak. Im running a MBC, spike to 16-17 and falling to 12-11. Also, could it be as simple as changing out the spark plugs?

Are you running a Cat or high flow Cat just straight pipe? I would think you are running rich. I would check the spark plugs like you mentioned.

I would start with checking the spark plugs for correct gap. Then check your base timing as well as your 'corrected' timing. A logger would be your best friend right now ;) I'm not too familiar with the 2g duel o2 setup but that might have something to do with it.

With higher EGT's and running a rich condition at points could easily lead to throwing some flames. This also could be do to a boost leak. I think your next investment should be a logger :)

LordDigi...you hit it dead on LOL...Im gonna try and grab a logger with a s-afc asap. I just got back from NAPA and I installed some new NGK BPR7ES's. Not sure if Im shooting anymore flames, but it feels good. Ill do a boost leak test ASAP. Oh ya Midnightride, I have the APEXI N1 turbo-back, which is a cat-deleting system.

Thanks for the help guys
