Help with throttle

Hello All,
I have a question I hope that some one could help me with. I have a 95 Eclipse and is a n automatic. Everytime I press down the gas while I am in park or neutral it takes forever to rev back down to idle. Is there something I can do to fix this? My van is a automatic as well and it revs up and down without any problem. Can some one help?

Make sure to check your vacume lines!

all the vaccum lines are good. I replaced them when I first got the car. I am wondering if maybe it is some kind of sensor or something else.

Is there a reason that you are reving your car at a redlight???

Also, please define "forever".

no there is no reason for reaving at red lights, in fact I do not rev at red lights. I got the car from a used car lot and trying to get the kinks out. It takes a good 15 seconds to get back at idle speed.

sometimes crud will get into the throttle cables and after years of common neglet in that region crud will get on the cable, you mash the gas and the cable pulls it up in the cable sleeve, shoot some brake cleaner on there, make sure its all off, pull the cable in and out to grab anymore junk, and then put some lube on it and move it in and out as well. I had a N/T that was acting in this manner and thats what fixed it, could be a kink as well but doubtful. Let me know if it helps

Ok I cleaned the cable up, but I still have the same problem. Any suggestions?
