Tired Of Being Confused!! Please Help Me!!

Hey guys i have a 97 eclipse gst. I recently just ran into a problem where when the car hits about 6 psi it starts to buck and the exhaust starts to pop really fast and the psi will get up to about 10 psi while doing this but won't go past this. Today i replaced all my intercooler piping with new stock piping and i'm still having the problem. Although it feels like a boost leak, the car isnt blowing out black smoke out of the exhaust like it did last time i had a boost leak but i cant figure out what the problem could be. I really need help, i just want my car to run good again. Anyone know what the problem could be or what i should check for? i also forgot to mention that i just bought and installed an adapter for my MAF so i could install a filter on it and eliminate my stock air box/intake

Do an actual boost leak test.

Check your spark plugs for the proper gap. (.028-.031)
Check the plug wires.

Also, resetting the ecu to learn the new air flow characteristics wouldn't hurt either.

deffinately check for vacume leaks and dont worry about the maf to filter adapter its not a big deal...

it could be anything to do with the fuel, i would guess its that more then a boost leak from your description.

Im gonna have to say spark plugs. I had a similar problem when i got my car and thats what it ended up being.
