Yesterday I took off the piece of the flex section on my downpipe while changing the oil, (it was loose, just the wrapping around it), I also changed my spark plug wires and pcv valve today. Now when I started it up today after the pcv valve and spark plug wire change my car stalls out and doesnt go anywhere, it putt-putts and then stalls out. I triple checked my plug wires and thats not it. Do you think it could be the spark plugs? I mean they are only about a couple months old. Or do you think that my engine picks up knock or something from the part of the flex I took off? I mean the check engine light is not on or anything. Please help me out. :dsm:

I changed the plugs just now and it still sputters and putt, putts, the plugs are gapped correctly, and the wires are in the right order, and it backfires like crazy, do you think the flex part I took off (the wrapping around it) of it has anything to do with it? I noticed that the engine shakes ALOT more than it did, shakes back and forth and vibarates like crazy, I mean it didnt do that before, it was driving fine before, WHAT IS WRONG?

I tried already didnt work, could it be the iridium plugs I used? I mean I checked for any leaks by the hed and there are none, bu it vibrates and shakes like crazy, do you think I blew my headgasket?

Where are you drawing this possibility from?

How did the car run before you did any of this maintainence?

Are you ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY SURE the wires are in the right order? Please check again before you hit that reply button.

Go to www.vfaq.com, then click on "Short Tips", then scroll down to "ENGINE", there it is explain in what order, and there is a nice little visual pic that you can look at.

What kinda spark plug wires did you get?, stock? aftermarket?, whatever, check your cap, make sure those are in the correct order, also start your car up at night and look where your plugs go into your cap and see if you have any kinda arching, this was a problem for me, i had some aftermarket 8.5mm wires and they were arcing like crazy. Not noticable during the day, for me anyways.
