Hi I have two questions that i need help with, first when trouble shooting my belt noise i descovered the during one of the trips to the dealer or repair shop, my waterpump pulley was bent, it is not very bad but does wobble. Should i replace it ? Second i am going to replace my lower t/b cover the gaskets are special order and the old ones look ok they are not torn or dry rot, should i replace them anyway ? Thanks

i would just clean off the lower seal maybe put a bit of oil on it so it swells back up. its just a formed oring.

As for the waterpump pully how badly is it bent? Its your call but if its bent enough it will make the belt wear out faster. just make sure that you can't grab the pulley and shift it at all, because if you can shift it around your waterpump could be going bad

That was my first thought when i started hearing my squacking noise, but with the belt off the waterpump has only very slight play, i think all bearings will have some freerock. I usto work for Gates in my home town and we made pulleys, my dept Quality had arbors and bench centers and i could tru up bent pulleys, would be nice if had them now. My concern was the pulley having lateral r/o would cause the w/p to fail premarturly.

Yea i had a shop do that to me one time on my other GS-T, ate up two belts before if figured out what was wrong.
