Was the factory security an option? Rare for GSX to not have it..

Well I recently just bought another 95 GSX as my daily driver. It's pretty much bone stock.

I'm thinking this car came from the factory without the factory security. My GSX also has no sunroof. In comparison, my black 95 GSX in my pics has the factory security and sunroof.

I checked behind the panel in the back drivers side, where the control unit would be. (Same location as my other 95 GSX). There was nothing there, however the wiring harness is. As far as I can tell it was not removed, it looked ilke I was the first person to remove the panel.

The security light does not work when I lock the doors. I do have power locks. Anybody else have a 2g without the factory security?

I don't know if it's standard or not. I used to have some links to factory brochures but I couldn't find them.
Edmunds and kbb didn't have it listed as standard options

Oh and the wirring, I'm pretty sure they use the same wirring harness in the cars to make it easy in production, and if certian fetures weren't used then they just left the wires there.

its fairly AWSOME to get a GSX without a sunroof!

I have always dreamed of owning one without one
Ever since my friend picked up his 90 talon AWD without one i always thought its was so badass.
that and you save a ton of weight.

Not to mention all the savings in creaking and squeeking. And that metal clash sound that plate behind the glass makes..

Now that you mention it... i'm not sure if i do have factory security. When i got my 95 GSX it came w/o the original key so i'm not sure if it does. If it DOES have factory security, does anyone know how I can get the remotes to work w/ my car?? Also, where did you say the module for the security was located (more specifically please)??

Your not sure if it has factory security, but you say it does?

If you lock the doors and the green security light comes on, you have factory security.

The box to get the remotes to work.. the rear panel on the driver side. By the rear 6x9 speakers. Pop that panel, you should see it. Supposedly sometimes its in a different location, by the steering column. My other 95 GSX has it by the rear speaker. As far as programming it, check the tech articles, under the electronic section, there are 2 writeups I believe.

That partially answered my question. I think i need to be more clear though for the other part. I'll open up the rear drivers side panel that covers the 6x9 rear speaker and look for the security unit to see if my car even originally came equipped with OEM security.

Let me re-phrase the other part of my ??. Where can I get the remotes for my car... or in other words, would any remote work or does it have to be a mitsu OEM remote??

The FCC ID number will have to match.
The remote doesn't learn the car, it teaches it its code.
Again, this other topic is in other threads.

my Talon doesnt have Security, sunroof........ or the LSD I heard theya re supposed to come with :(

I have power everything half leather seats ,sunroof. But I need to look if my security unit is in place though. My security light comes on when i lock the doors but I dont have a remote. I also dont know what the alarm does...honk the horn if messed with?
