Rough Idle

Ok I've changed the Time belt, and while I was changing it I changed fuel filter as well

then I have rough idle problem, RPM is going 640~820, and car shakes then some times
engine shuts off.

now at first i though it was my time belt which was off single teeth
and I changed it back to correct allignment,

BUT the problem is still there, its fine once I give gas, but idle sucks

help me out. and I also checked on fuel filter, but its fine...

help me out guys,

oh yeah also its giving out too much exhuast smell, almost smells like gas

I would check the timing again just to be sure. Also, it might that the fuel filter might be bad cause the idle to be rough. I know you said you just changed it but I changed mine once before the new one was bad. The gassy smelling exhaust is your timing has to be off a little bit also whick will give you the rough ilde too so double check the timing belt ok. Good luck.

I once had a similar problem it was the idele adjusting screw that kept unscrewing itself.I put silicon on it and it got fixed. That might not be your problem but check it anyways it doesnt hurt. And recheck the timing belt make sure the harmonic balance (crankshaft pulley) is top dead center and the dowels ar straight up good luck
