It's really been bugging me, would i have to use a mulitmeter to read the siginal out of the knock sensor? I've been wondering a few things concerning the knock sensor and i was going to do a few experiments.
I dont know if this explains the question any better but im wondering if the knock sensor's frequency can be read by a multimeter?

From what I have seen, you can read it but most people get a different value then what is suggested. If you can tell me what you are trying to do, I might be able to shed more light on it for you?

Well say you get 3 counts of knock doing a 3rd gear pull. Does 3 counts of knock getting measured on a multimeter read the same as say 10 counts? Is the frequency just one whole number or is it like voltage readings on a battery, cars off its low, cars on its high?

Ok I dont know if this will help but the guy that owned the car before me hooked his sensor up to the stock boost gauge I know he isnt the only one to do this but it gives differnt values sometimes so I would geuss yes just a thought.
