ok, i tried to post this in auto forum but it wont let me yet... so here's the deal

i've got a 50trim, fmic, walboro 255hp not re-wired yet, 680's, gm mafs, in a stock 7bolt 2g.

when i had the t25 i could stall it up to around 3200 on stock converter and it would go. now with the 50 trim it will only stall up to 2200 and build like 1-2psi of boost. is there somethign wrong here? i read some posts in the auto forum, and someone said they had a 50 trim with 272s building 15pounds on stock stall... is it in my tuning? or what? i would think 272's would produce lower flow down low and cause it to not stall as good as stock cams.

anyway, i would really like to get this figured out by this weeknd if anyone has any ideas...

yea and it sux,,, any ideas? i'm gonna just try to mess with the tuning a lil more on friday but,,, i dont understand.

Hey auto dsm guy here! Well i would boost leak test it first and foremost. What is the size of the turbine housing . Also on a stock converter and a 50 trim it will not be as eay to build boost setting still . I learned this when i thought that a evo3 16g would out preform my small 16g . WRONG The small 16g spools way faster and makes nearly the same topend power. Your possibly just suffering from lag of a big turbo . If you were to get a high stall torque converter from ipt tuning it would spool and be gone because you could get a higher rpm before launch . If you were to just slap on a smaller turbine housing it would increase you spool sitting still or power braking if you will. My small16g on a stock converter will boost to 21 psi or higher if i cranked it higher it will spool like crazy. That usally around 2500 -3000 rpm factory stall . With a 4500 ipt you couldspool up a 50 trim off the line . That would would feel really good. Well tell us if you have a boost leak. I do believe it should spool higher than 1 or 2 psi you should be able to get close to 15 or higher i could stall the evo3 16g it just took forever to get up there you may have to pump the gas a llitte while you stalling the turbo to get it rolling.

the thing is, it wont stall past 2200, i'll try to pump the gas a lil next time i try.

and i was thinkin bout a boost leak test a lil bit ago so i'm going to try that also,,, but hell if i could get it to build 15 pounds off the line it'd be great... i'm fwd so i dont wanna build some crazy boost off the line anyway...

also, i kno its lag from a big turbo and i kno if i got a higher stall converter from ipt i'd be set. and that is what i'm planning on doing. i'm just very short on cash from bills right now, and i read that some one was actually spooling a 50 trim on stock stall... so i figured something might be wrong...

Me to on the money part . After i wrote that i figured you knew that . But on a fwd wow that would be some serious traction issues . Boost leak or controller trouble id say. Let me know what you find.
