Ok. I was gonna move my car to another spot in my driveway, but it wouldnt budge. Apparantly the brakes all locked up. (doesnt run, had to push) Well, I took the back calipers off to take out the pads, and dicovered the pads terribly worn down. The thing is that they were both angled...Ill get a pic of it tonight, but the right side even wore down the rotor. It is now curved as it goes up. Im pulling the fronts tonight to see those, plus it still wont move.

Any one know whats up? I dont even know how this is possible. Never seen a pad like this before, let alone both sides.

Also, anyone know why the brakes locked up? It hasnt moved for some time, but I dont think it shoulda siezed like that, cause used the brakes when I towed the car, and it was fine.

It could be rust or seized calipers.

Also, check the ebrake under the rear rotors and make sure that its not stuck.

I dont think its the p-brake.....I did loosen them up inside the car, which Ill have another ? about later, once I get a pic....

If the calipers are siezed, then what? Can I just take em apart and fix em up?

I agree with diablo... definently check the ebrake, especially if the front brakes are fine. Was this i flatbed tow truck or a tow behind? because if it was a dolly and your rear brakes were locked that could explain the screwed up pads.

It was towed on a flatbed...And the front brakes are locked up too.....I dont know how the pads look yet, but all 4 were stuck. Something is up the the p-brake cable though, cause under the counsole its angled wierd....Might have to replace all that....But it doesnt explain the pads.

The e-brake istelf could be stuck. The cable is only 1 portion of the e-brake system.
This part should not be overlooked.

Rent a brake tool from autozone or checker and see if the calipers compress. If they don't, they are probably siezed and need to be replaced.

Your rotors may be warped as well, have them looked at while you have it taken apart. They might be able to be turned.

Ok, got the car moving after taking off all 4 brake pads...Still need to mess with the calipers more to see what the deal is with those.

heres pics of my rear, inside pads though...I have no idea whats up with them. one of the rotors is really messed up, like a bowl kinda from the wear.......Anyone know whats up with this? Im thinkin maybe they put it in wrong, but still, they are pretty bad....

You're going to need new pads, rotors and calipers. Pads that wear like that are from seized calipers and or seized slider pins. On the caliper bridge (the piece the caliper bolts to, Try to move the sliders in and out to see if they move. from sitting they might have locked up and are unable to move) If i were you i'd buy loaded calipers, pads, and rotors.. i say loaded calipers because these come with new caliper bridges and if your sliders are frozen in you bridge you're going to have a hell of a time getting them out of there unless you have access to a torch. have fun!

That almost looks like someone put the inside pads in with one of the tabs not in all the way WTF Part of the pad looks like it never touched the rotor since the install.

Ya, they are untouched on that top side....Really strange. Ill have to get a pic of the rotor too after I pull it......Its obviously been like that for awhile..

As far as the calipers go. Not all of them are stuck(gliders). In fact if I remember I dont think any of them are. So should I just take em apart and clean em up really well? I cant afford new ones, and would ###### just pick and choose from the 3 at the junkyard... But non the less, Id rather just use what I got, buy only what I have to.(like new rotor)
I have access to a torch, and any other machine I could ever want. (work at a machine shop) so thats not an issue.

Thanks.

If none of the pistons are seized or leaking, and the sliders are free too, double check your hardware, (those little s.s. clips can be a pain) and put it together correctly, and you should be golden. The rear pistons have to be turned in, clockwise, Don't forget to align the notches in the piston with the nub on the back of the pad. If you are in doubt, ask for help, don't "just try it" we don't want you to hurt anyone, including you. Good luck!
