Is the evo iii manifold and o2 housing a direct bolt on for a 2g turbo? If so, will it give me a few more horsepower than stock. Found a great deal on one and am curious. Did a search and no info. Thanks.

Search a little harder its their,LOL, the evo manifold is a direct bolt on. the 02 housing isnt, i think certain dp work, not 100 sure on the 02 houseing, search evo 02 hosueing.

When searching, make sure you are limiting the scope to thread titles only-- you will end up with fewer threads to sift through, which can make finding your answer a whole lot easier.

In my opinion, the amount of work to pull off the turbo doesn't justify the gain in power you'll see for this mod. I would wait until you're ready to upgrade the T25 before investing that much time. I had my stock manifold ported when I upgraded my turbo, which has worked just fine for me. The O2 sensor housing discharges at a slightly different angle than the stock unit, which makes downpipe fitment a little tricky. You will also either need to modify your existing downpipe flange or get an EvoIII flange welded on to replace it, as the holes are spaced a little differently.

The evo III 02 Housing will bolt up with some work. It's flange to the downpipe is at a slight angle.
You can either get a downpipe to match it,
or you can get a flange and an exhaust shop to weld you on the flange at the right angle..
The EVO III 02 housing is a lot bigger then stock, i have the pictures of the difference around here somewhere.

EDIT: Blast, I was beat to it.

Some aftermarket downpipes eliminate the 02 housing.
Thus you'll see them listed as 02 Eliminator Downpipe.
Most downpipes however still retain the use of the 02 housing.

Your going to have to get a downpipe thats matched to the EVO III 02 angle.
Or you'll have to take it to an exhaust shop and have them weld a new flange on your downpipe (shouldnt cost more then 10-20bucks)

that sucks, the guy who sold it to me told me it was just a simple swap, although a simple flange swap isnt bad its just the idea of cutting and welding on a brand new downpipe..

You might be able to get away with bending the top of the pipe to make it fit. Some have had luck.
Someone around here sells the flanges, i forget who.

dejontool sells downpipes that fit the evo III 02

I thought they sold the flanges too

No problem! You might be able to shop around the vendors here, and find some cheaper, but that's the only other ones I knew about offhand.
Good luck!

Oh, and if you haven't, check out EBAY. I got a downpipe that was flanged for the evo III and the evo III 02 housing for I think 100, or 120.

I realize that you have a 2G, but this is the best I can do for now.
