a while ago i talk to some people about my 1st gen talon being messed up it was driving real sluggish wasn't getting any boost, and it was shifting funny (its an auto by the way). There was oil around the turbo area and smoke was coming out of the exhaust. they told me i blew a seal in the turbo and i really didn't know what that was, so they told me to stick my fingers in the turbo to see if there was any shaft play well there isn't any, does that mean the turbo is still good or could be bad still? And i just drove it the other day after sitting for about a month and it started to drive a little better still not getting any boost but wasn't as slow as it was before then all of a sudden it started messing up again? another person told me it could be the injectors, either they need to be cleaned or replaced. if anybody ever had this problem i would greatly appreciate the help. thanks.

I found oil in my turbo inlet and have white smoking coming out of my exhaust and now my turbo sounds like a supercharger whinning and i am going thru 1 quart of oil a week also runs slugish. Makes boost i cant even hear my greddy type RS bov anymore ..turbo seal is bad. :barf: :dsm:

Is the smoke white or black or bluish-white?

When you check for turbo shaft play, try pulling it in/out as well as pushing it side/side. You'll have some side/side even on a brand new turbo, but there should be no in/out.

Pull you LICP off the turbo compressor outlet (pipe between your turbo and intercooler). If there is a lot of oil there, you should pull the other end of it off your intercooler and maybe put an oil catchcan under there just in case. If a lot of oil comes out of your intercooler, that's a pretty good sign you have a blown seal. Oil naturally gets blown into your intake via your VC breather (hose from the passenger side of your valve cover), but you can clean up the oil in the compressor outlet and do a full-throttle test, then check for fresh oil in the compressor outlet again.

Yea i took out the intercooler and it was full of oil, so i cleaned it out. and now im in the process of putting the 14b i got on there to replace the 13g. ill let you guys know how it goes. thanks for all your help.
