Can i get my car into the 14's with a 14b? (2g, auto)

really really lame topic i know, but my daily driver is a 95 talon tsi awd automatic. I have alot of left over parts from my other project cars, and i want to use some of them. i have a TD04 (14b) from a 1g talon tsi. (i took the manifold and o2 thing as well. and the bypass valve), an emanage blue, 460, 550, 680, 720, 950, 780, and 1600cc injector sets. (rotary guy= huge ass injectors)


i ran a 16.3 with the t25 which is kinda seen better days...case in point, hits 14 lbs (even with the restrictor removed in the BCS) then drops to 11-12 sometimes 10. for the last 3000 rpms. woo. i have a KandN Oval looking filter. and that is it. the car is uber stock.

so i got the 14b in great shape for very cheap. now, if i port the manifold and o2 dump, then run a better exhaust, run my emanage, how close can i get to 14's? will i need anything bigger than the stock injector size? i plan on getting a pocketlogger because that is the coolest little do dad ive ever seen, and it should help with tuning.

All you really need to run 14s on a 14B is a good tune, and seat time. Porting the o2 and manifold is a good idea, also get a hard air intake pipe, with a 1G BOV, the stock 2G BOV leaks at like 14psi, really weak, the 1g can hold 23psi before leaking. Go with a 2.5" turbo-back with hi flow cat, and you will be looking towards 12s and 13s.

I hit 14.7 with the 14b on 16psi.Second run ever,95+ degree day,and 23 counts of knock half track on.14b at 12 psi should get you in the 14's easy,since you have a 2g and higher compression pistons.But a 14b is the td05h turbo,the td04 is the smaller 13g on 1g auto's.

I believe the tdo4 is the 13G from the 1G Automatics. It is smaller.

It doesnt matter if its an auto, there are very fast auto's in the 10s, an auto shifts much quicker then a person ever could. Good catch guys on the TD04 bit, didnt even notice it, LOL.

I've always heard the saying, "Impress the highschool girls with a manual, impress the stands at the track with your auto."

Aren't most of the drivers on the board w/the top track times automatics anyways?

Dont think so, shep, kiggly, Jack(evil_eagle), have manuals. ITP has the worlds quickest auto, I believe it passed the 1320 at 145mph, with a 9 or 10 sec pass.

well im pissed i bought than damn 13g then, (spent 3 hours at the yard pulling it)

anyone want to buy a 13g? damn good shape!

is it possible to swap the compressor side of another mitsu turbo and use the good bearings on the 13g?
 
The dodge turbo your talking about has a different compressor cover,and a different exhaust housing.Your better off finding a used 14b off the classifieds.
 
Doubtful, Just try and sell that turbo to a guy with a 3000GT. Remember they have to use that AND a bigger turbo (15g) to make power. Just try to find a good used 14b in the classifieds.
 
You could still get into the 14's with that 13g. I havent went to the track lately but I know my car should be in the mid 14's with my 1g auto. I just have catback exhuast and ported header off ebay. Ibeat my bros cobalt ss superchered and he ran a 14.7
